Mindfit - Coach Session

Coaches in the Atom and older divisions are encouraged to attend the Mindfit session by Lesley Smyth on Thursday, January 10 beginning at 6:00 pm in the upper mezzanine.


Power of the Mind and Visualization

 

"Athlete-Focused Coaching" that will include:

o  Process-driven versus Outcome-driven;

o  Impact of Coach on Athlete;

o  Excellence vs Success;

o  Pressures and Demands

 

Power of the Mind

Sub-title:Emotional regulation to develop optimum focus and concentration 

Abstract: Coaches will learn strategies and techniques to strengthen their ability to control and manage the emotional experiences faced by athletes in practice and competition. Acquiring the skills to emotional RESET after a loss, a weak performance, or any emotional trigger that could impact performance.

What we’ll tackle:

o  Developing Focus and Concentration

o  Emotional Regulation 

o  RESET Method to Manage an Undesirable Emotional Response

 

What the Mind Believes the Body Will Achieve 

Sub-title:Visualization to enhance performance in practice and competition

Abstract:  Focusing on learning how to effectively visualize to prepare, increase confidence, energize, and motivate athletes.  Coaches will learn how to use visualization for competition, skill improvement, and injury recovery.

What we’ll tackle:

o  BRAVR Visualization Technique by Positive Performance Training:  Psychology of Competition

o  Implementing Visualization to Enhance Performance in Practice and Competition
